Q: When were did you first KNOW you were a “fashionista”? How did you express this …

I guess I first knew when my mom put a bright, yellow dress on me as an adolescent. Haha.

All joking aside, it was when I first moved out of LA to attend Cornell University. Being in the small arctic tundra, otherwise known as Ithaca, taught me how to expertly layer without sacrificing style. Nowadays, I combine the best of both East and West coast style elements and truly make it my own.

Q: Tell us a bit about your blog? When was it created, and what are its audience and goals?

MYBELONGING initially started as an outlet for me to instill meaning into my material investments (basically, a way for me to document and find meaning through my belongings – get it?). The personal style component didn’t come around until much later, when I felt the need to express my style identity through a form of visual storytelling and reenact my favorite magazine editorials.

Q: How is LA different than other fashion capitals across the globe?

There is a certain ease and effortlessness that is inimitable anywhere else.

Q: Do you attend LA Fashion Week ? Which are your favorite shows, designers, etc.

I’ve attended a variety of shows, from charity events at the Vibiana to CONCEPT at Quixote studios, during LA Fashion Week. I have to say SKINGRAFT’s shows during LAFW are, by far, my favorite – so much so that I also attended their debut at NYFW!

Q: How else are you involved in fashion? Where does “fashion” integrate itself into your daily life?

I began my career as a social media strategist and publicist for apparel and denim labels, so I’ve always been involved in fashion on a professional level. Growing up in a household with four older sisters also exposed me to different style personalities at an early age.

Q: What are your predictions for 2014? FAV celebs dress-wise and hope to see return?

As far as LA fashion and personal style goes, it’ll become a lot more minimal and international in scope.

Q: What is your FAV fashion era / decade and why?

Now and the future — fashion is a constant evolution.

Q: What is your favorite color, city and accessory?

Black is always chic in my book. Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco are my second homes. Designer shoes make the boldest statements.
