The Los Angeles Fashion Council

Introducing the Los Angeles Fashion Council

Founded by LA blogger Kelsi Smith, the new LA Fashion Council’s mission is to “elevate Los Angeles fashion design by creating a platform for presentation on local, national and international levels, as well as by providing education, funding and support.”

Kelsi has been a staple of the LA fashion community for some time, and has been involved in numerous projects including Two Point Oh! LA.

The current advisory board is made up of Richard Johnson (COO of Tokyo-based Horiyoshi The Third), Marlien Rentmeester, Jen Weinberg (West Coast Editor for Glamour magazine), Brenna Egan (LA editor at Refinery29), N. Jayne Seward (fashion editor for California Apparel News), Erin Weinger (co-founder and publisher of StyleSectionLA.com), Elaine Pow, Megyn Bell (Business Development Officer for Merchant Factors), and Sarah Pollack, founder of acclaimed event series, Simply Stylist.

It’s an exciting time once again for LA fashion. (But isn’t it always?) Stay tuned.
