Q: When it comes to getting celebrities ready for the EMMYS and choosing the best tone for their Red Carpet outfit, who sees the dress first, you or the makeup artist?
That’s a great question, James and you know what, nobody has ever asked me that before. In a perfect world, the makeup artist and spray tanner would be the same person but that isn’t always the case. When I spray tan, I don’t really think about what the makeup will look like; I just try to imagine what the skin tone will look like in a color under the lights and in front of a camera. The balance between under saturation (looking too pale) and oversaturation (looking like a sunkiss instead of sun-kissed) is a fine balance. This created the perfect tone for the makeup artist to work with. I probably am one of the last people to see the dress and when I do, it is usually in a picture.

Q: If you could spray tan anyone, who would it be and why?
Richard Branson, because I would like to be the first person to try to spray tan at Zero Gravity and with Virgin Galactic; he’s someone who could make that happen. With our new silencer technology, I could spray tan him secure in the knowledge that he could hear me when I pitch the idea. LOL.
Q: You have been referred to as the “First Lady of Sunless” and “Celebrity Spray Tanning Guru”. Did you just wake up one day and decide that you wanted to create an entire industry?
When I was growing up, they used to call me Casper. Look at how white my skin is! I was so ashamed that I didn’t dare wear shorts or bathing suits; at least, not until I started mixing things together to make a color on my skin … any color that was not white. WOW, that means the color of Infinity Sun has been in development for over 30 years!

Q: You are a serious business woman. How does being known as Hollywood’s “celebrity spray tanning guru” impact your business? Do the shows like Glee, Millionaire Matchmaker, Dr. 90210 and Entourage have your machines onsite?
Entertainment is such a fun way to get our brand in front of millions of people at one time. We do have spray tanning systems on set, but often we shoot on location. Glee was my favorite; they took 3 of our spa lites and painted them for an amazing dance scene. It’s also a way to showcase how different our technology is from everything else out there! Also, from a marketing standpoint, when they see how flawless the results are, they ask for Infinity Sun by name and won’t settle for anything else, which is great for driving customers to our customers!

Q: Speaking of how different Infinity Sun technology is, explain the difference between “plug and spray” vs. the more traditional spray tanning machines?
The machines that you see with the little cups attached to the guns really were designed to spray houses and cars, not people. Generally, different fluids have to be mixed together the create different intensity levels, and because there is no automation in the atomization, there is a lot of overspray! With Infinity Sun, one solution works on all skin types and you can go as light or as dark as you want. This can be selected directly on the machine. Because we use computer technology, the solution is atomized to a very fine particle size, which means only a fraction of solution is required to spray a full body, and it’s even and precise. That is why our sprays are so incredibly flawless. I say “Better Than Airbrush.”

Q: Explain your tagline “Where Sunless Tanning and Timeless Beauty Unite.”
Not only do we use the highest grade DHA that can be found on the planet, but we also infuse our solutions with antioxidants and botanicals, as well as emollients and humectants, which protect the skin from the dryness that inevitably comes with the application of DHA. Additionally, we have a selection of beauty treatment elixirs, such as an antiaging/skin firming treatment that can be sprayed through the system to add an additional layer of hydration to the skin. On and off the red carpet or runway, our skin is the most important accessory. Nothing makes a stronger statement than radiant skin.
Q: Having SO many celebrities using Infinity Sun as part of their Red Carpet regime, everyone wants to know how we accomplish this look at home?
By using a good SPF when you go out in the sun, stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water and green tea, and use Infinity Sun Glow on The Go sunless tanner. It can be applied all over the body for a full body spray tan, or applied to just the face, neck and décolleté area for a continuous healthy looking glow year round.
